1971 Corvette Coupe Restoration

History

1971 Corvette Coupe purchased in 1999 as a project car to restore. It did not run, but as you can see the body wasn't too bad.

The car had a 327ci/300hp (not original) that I rebuilt. The transmission was professionally rebuilt. The rebuilt 327 was strong, but not the correct vintage for that year.
In 2000, I replaced the engine with a professionally rebuilt 350 from a 1975 truck. The engine was rebuilt by Klaus Racing Engines. In short, for added performance it has a mild street Comp Cam, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 750cfm carb and Bowtie Double-Hump heads milled .030".
IT RAN GREAT BEFORE, IT RUNS AWESOME NOW!!!

Options
350ci Engine, 4-speed Muncie Close-Ratio Transmission (M21), Power Steering, Power Brakes, Leather Interior, Plush Carpet, 4 Wheel Discs, AM/FM Radio, Air Conditioning, T-tops, Removable Rear Window, Tilt/Telescoping Steering Wheel, Alarm System.

A Couple Notes:
As I was stripping the car, I realized I did not have the patience or expertise for this type of work. Therefore, the car was trailered to Mid-Cities Corvettes. Jim Welch and his crew took care of all the body work for me. There was no way I could have done it as well them.

I replaced the radio with a new AM/FM/Cassette from Mid-America/Kenwood.

Literally everything in the car was either rebuilt, replaced and in working order. Way too many items to list. Its easier to list the items that still needed a little work:
Seats-they were still presentable, but should be professionally reworked.
A/C-Upon installing the engine, I did not re-install the A/C. I have the components but I'm sure they needed replacing.
